Climate Proof Cities

Members of MILUnet wished to set up an INTERREG IVC project to establish a European network of cities and government (equivalent) bodies to exchange knowledge and experience, as well as ideas on how to adapt cities to climate change and to ensure an affordable climate proof urban future. This project can be seen as the successor of MILUnet. SMC was invited to play a key role in the cinematrographic desimination of Climate Proof Cities.

Climate change is on everybody’s mind. The general effect of rising temperature will be sea-level rise and greater aridity on land. The interaction in Europe is so complex that the precise consequences will differ from place to place. In general longer and extensive draught periods will occur, while there will also be periods of heavy rain and storms. The weather will become more dynamic and less predictable.
